“I can't remember the number of cars, the winding roads, even the borders crossed. But one thing remains clear: behind the wheel is where life unfolds. It's about the trust my passengers place in me, and upholding the Group's image with every journey," said Mr. Pham Viet Chau, the THILOGI's Agricultural Transport team leader.
THILOGI Transportation Company, or THILOTRANS, has a team of nearly 400 skilled drivers who safely transport not only employees but also a diverse range of goods, including cars, spare parts, agricultural products, industrial equipment, and mechanical products, to the right place at the right time to meet THACO Chu Lai's production and business requirements. The company serves as a vital link in the regional logistics supply chain, delivering shipments for businesses across Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia to the global market.
Recognizing that drivers are the face of THILOGI, the company prioritizes building a team that embodies its values. THILOGI drivers are not only skilled behind the wheel, but also uphold a strong company culture, professional standards and ethical conduct.
“We must always stay concentrated, alert and pay close attention”
To ensure every trip is a success, drivers must demonstrate a dedicated and responsible attitude, including attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility for their cargo and passengers, and the ability to adapt and take initiative in unexpected situations.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Toan, an agricultural product driver said: "Navigating a multi-ten-meter tractor-trailer through mountainous terrain is no easy work. It demands non-stop focus, vigilance, and sharp observational skills to react decisively to unforeseen situations. Before every departure, I conduct a thorough inspection of the entire vehicle, utilizing the cruise surveillance camera to check the steering system, wheels, lights, brakes, and horn, minimizing the risk of any potential issues arising during transport.”
Beyond focus and on-the-road skills, the THILOGI driver team consistently demonstrates exemplary conduct. Their courteous and professional behavior contributes to upholding the company's image and fostering trust with customers.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, a shuttle bus driver shared: "We prioritize courtesy and a calm demeanor in all interactions with customers, and we are willing to support and assist fellow drivers. We uphold professional standards, always acting with integrity and avoiding any behavior that could compromise the Group's reputation."
For over 15 years, despite early mornings and late nights, the enthusiasm for work of Mr. Tran Tan Dung, a dedicated shuttle bus driver at THILOGI remains as strong as ever. Beyond his regular duties, he actively participates in the company's meaningful initiatives, such as the heartwarming bus trip that reunited Quang Nam residents living in Ho Chi Minh City with their hometown during the challenging Covid-19 pandemic. He shared: "Over the years, driving has become more than just a job; it's a source of satisfaction and daily joy. Each safe journey, every encounter with new people, and the satisfied smiles I see are my constant motivation. They fuel my dedication to contributing to THILOGI's continued growth and success."
Cultivating and improving professional skills and ethical conduct of the driving team
Beyond adherence to traffic regulations, drivers are empowered to continuously refine their driving skills and ethical conduct. This commitment is manifested through monthly in-depth training classes covering safe driving techniques, updated traffic laws, and effective strategies for handling various transportation scenarios. THILOGI also fosters a culture of open communication and heightened awareness by implementing various communication channels - internal newsletters, code of conduct handbooks, and dedicated driver-focused publications.
The Group also established the "Excellent Driver" competition to recognize drivers who demonstrate a consistent sense of responsibility. The competition serves as a source of motivation, encouraging them to remain focused and always "hands on the wheel and foot on the accelerator," ready to safely and efficiently complete their tasks.
At THILOTRANS, the Agricultural Transport department has nearly 200 drivers responsible for over 200 different specialized vehicles, serving long-distance transport from Vietnam to Laos or Cambodia. Mr. Nguyen Duy Linh, the department's Sales Vice Director said: "On long journeys, the vehicles might have problems on the road. Therefore, our unit focuses on maintenance schedules, regular inspections, fosters technical skills and driving skills for employees, assigns experienced drivers with good technical knowledge to mentor and support new drivers, and adheres to the Group's regulations and road traffic safety laws."
While every transportation type demands a distinct skillset, THILOGI drivers share a unifying purpose: safeguarding the well-being of both passengers and cargo. Despite encountering various challenges, the team remains steadfast in their commitment to their profession, striving to excel in their assigned tasks, ultimately delivering satisfaction and value to customers and partners alike.
