Chu Lai port is planned from a type-II seaport (local general port) to a type-I seaport (national port, regional hub) according to the master plan of Vietnam's seaport system in 2021-2030, vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister on September 22, 2021. According to this new document, Chu Lai Port is one of 15 type-I seaports among a total 36 ports in Vietnam's seaport system.
To develop Chu Lai Port commensurate with a type-I seaport, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province has approved the outline of tasks and survey estimates, planning for Chu Lai Port development by 2030 to develop Chu Lai Port to turn the port into a hub for domestic and international trades in Central and Central Highlands Vietnam; a transport center connecting to the East Sea for the Central Highlands Vietnam, southern Laos, northeast Cambodia and Thailand.
Thereby, Chu Lai Port has dredged the front wharf to a depth of -9.5m, completed and widened the turning basin from 220m to 260m. In June 2022, Chu Lai Port built and expanded the deep-water port to welcome 50,000 DWT vessels (expected to be put into operation in 2023), and proposed an investment project of 50,000 DWT Cua Lo channel associated with the Tam Hoa non-tariff zone and the 50,000 DWT container port at Chu Lai port, meeting the increasing import and export demand.

The warehouse and yard system at Chu Lai port has a total 224.000 m² area, built to international standards, under a tight security system; modern fire-alarm, fire-protection systems and 24/7 CCTV provide warehouse services for customers and guarantee absolute security for goods.
To optimally support customers, Chu Lai Port provides warehouse rental, storage and packing services at the customer’s request. Currently, the port is planning to build and expand the warehouse system to serve inventory needs for businesses in the region.

Currently, THILOGI owns tugboats with a capacity of up to 2700 HP, maximum support for towing activities of transit cargo ships at Chu Lai port. Its working motto is safe – fast – professional. Chu Lai berth has a length of nearly 500m, a front berth depth of -9.5m, capable of receiving 3 30,000 DWT vessels at the same time (off-loading); infrastructure, vehicles and equipment are always ready to meet the docking demand for vessels of different loads. 3/ Loading, unloading, tallying
Chu Lai Port provides tallying, loading and unloading services for all types of cargo such as container cargo, bulk cargo, retail cargo, oversized – overweight cargo, liquid cargo, gas cargo, agricultural cargo, autos and parts... with modern equipment such as specialized vehicles, Kato cranes... Dispatching personnel, port workers, forklift drivers are all well-trained and organized regular medical check-ups by THILOGI to ensure safe, accurate and efficient work. In particular, Chu Lai Port also put into operation a 100-ton weighing station, contributing to exploitation capacity, cargo loads control, and service quality improvement; simultaneously, it creates convenience for customers, partners, and shipping lines when using cargo weighing services, shortening the time and cost of cargo loading and unloading services at the port. The weighing station (originated from Spain) uses digital technology and is inspected as well as verified by the Quang Nam Science and Technology Center before being put into operation to ensure accuracy and speed for customers.
4/ Cargo transportation
Chu Lai Port owns a fleet of vehicles (trailers, trucks) to serve customers transporting cargo from the Port to the warehouse and vice versa. With a full-package service model, THILOGI not only provides cargo transportation services when the vessels arrive at the port or from the partner/customer's warehouse to the port awaiting export but also carries out a full range of services such as customs procedures, customs clearance, quarantine procedures, weighing to tonnage... and related documents so that exported/imported cargo go according to the customer's plan.
