CHU LAI PORT OPENS NEW SHIPPING ROUTE TO AMERICA
On November 17, at Chu Lai Port, THACO INDUSTRIES loaded 400 semi-trailers onto the Panamanian SEA TRAIN vessel, marking the beginning of their journey to Jacksonville Port, Florida, eastern America. This is the first time Chu Lai Port has handled a vessel carrying up to 40,000 DWT, and it also marks the launch of the direct shipping route from Chu Lai to the U.S.
Chu Lai Port can now receive high-tonnage vessels and open a new direct shipping route to America
The shipping route goes through major ports including Kanda (Japan), Busan (South Korea), Chu Lai (Vietnam), Nantong (China), and Jacksonville (USA), enabling businesses to access large markets in Asia and the U.S. quickly and conveniently.

Businesses in the Central Vietnam are having high demands for exports to the U.S. To meet such demand, Chu Lai Port is expanding its cooperation with international shipping lines, adding new routes to various ports on the East and West Coasts of the U.S., such as Savannah, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Chicago, New York, Jacksonville, and Seattle, with a frequency of four trips per month. Notably, the port offers flexible schedule services, enabling businesses to quickly transport their exports during periods of increased production or urgent order fulfillment, without being tied to fixed international shipping schedules.

After the deep-water berth, capable of handling general cargo ships up to 50,000 DWT, was put into operation with high-capacity and advanced loading equipment, the port has collaborated with many new domestic and international shipping lines, increasing its port calls. Developing direct shipping routes to the U.S. plays a crucial role in enhancing Chu Lai Port’s competitiveness, meeting the cargo needs of businesses in Chu Lai, Tam Thang, Thuan Yan (Quang Nam), and VSIP (Quang Ngai) industrial parks.
