THILOGI EXPANDS INTO LAOS TO STRENGTHEN CROSS-BORDER LOGISTICS
According to Laos’ Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the country’s exports reached almost $5.1 billion in the first half of 2025, up more than 3 per cent on-year, with agricultural products driving much of the growth. Recognising its role as a crucial link in the regional supply chain, THILOGI is expanding transport routes in key areas to deliver end-to-end logistics services for Lao exporters.
By combining road, sea, and port operations, the company aims to streamline the movement of goods from production hubs in Laos to seaports and onward to overseas buyers, cutting transit times and costs while enhancing the competitiveness of Lao products in international markets.
THILOGI strengthened its regional presence in July with the launch of THILOGI Laos Co., Ltd. in Attapeu province. The new subsidiary covers more than 10,000 square metres of warehouse space and operates a fleet of specialised trucks and semi-trailers.
It provides large-scale domestic trucking and international multimodal transport, offering end-to-end logistics services such as packing, warehousing, customs clearance, quarantine procedures, transit cargo handling, and global forwarding. This expansion marks a strategic step in tapping deeper into cargo flows from the ‘Land of a Million Elephants’, enabling more efficient vehicle deployment, enhancing counter-trade capacity, and improving operational performance on cross-border routes.
Bui Tran Nhan Nghiem, sales deputy director for Laos Region, said, “THILOGI is operating fixed routes from Attapeu, Sekong, Salavan, and Pakse to our Chu Lai International Port in Vietnam where cargos are exported to other Asian markets. In the first half of 2025, the port received over 700,000 tonnes of bulk cargo and over 1,000 containers transit from Laos.”
Major highways in Vietnam such as 14D, 14E, and 14B, along with road networks in central Vietnam, southern Laos, and northern Cambodia are currently undergoing significant upgrades. Such infrastructure improvement, combined with THILOGI’s significant investment, offers importers and exporters in Laos optimal and effective logistics solutions.
In addition to expanding its cross-border transport network, THILOGI is also focusing on developing Chu Lai International Port – the core hub in its service chain of trucking-seaport-shipping. THILOGI has invested in upgrading berths, maritime channels, expanding warehouse facilities, and equipping them with modern handling equipment. It is also strengthening cooperation with global shipping lines to launch more direct maritime routes from Chu Lai to major ports in China, South Korea, Japan, India, as well as connections to the US and Europe.
